One cyber crime a day in Gurgaon - HT delhi 12 May
GURGAON POLICE gets at least one complaint of cyber crime every day but it doesn't have enough trained manpower to cope with the rising level of crime. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Satheesh Balan, who was one of the participants in a workshop on latest trends in cyber crime world on Saturday, said the number of incidents of e-mail hacking or credit card misuse were on the rise in Gurgaon. Policemen from the level of constables to DCP and JCP participated in this workshop organised at the Mini Secretariat.
"We have been receiving one to two complaints related to cyber crimes on a daily basis and the number is bound to increase in this BPO and IT city Today we learnt basic . techniques on e-mail and mobile tracking, the use of which has become a routine in Gurgaon. We have maximum number of complaints related to credit card misuse in Gurgaon as compared to other metros of the country," Balan said.
DCP (West) Rakesh Arya, who was also one of the participants, said cyber crime incidents in Grugaon had become very frequent.
When asked as to why the number of cyber crime incidents did not reflect in the list of cases registered, Balan said such cases were disposed off as the police lacked the expertise to tackle it.

This is amazing ... the cops letting the criminals enjoy and continue their misdeeds due to lack of experienced and trained manpower to tackle internet related crimes.
With India Indians begaining to use the internet in a big way ... the incidents of cyber crimes are on the increase and with the kind of responce given by a senior police officer, things look scary .... What do you feel ?
